LMBC Children’s Ministry Director
Ministry Description: Lazy Mountain Bible Church is seeking to hire a Children’s director to equip a team of lay leaders in order to come alongside parents to see Christ formed in their children.
1. Team –Building (weekly and monthly)
a. Participate in weekly church staff meetings in order to communicate children’s ministry needs, to align the children’s ministry vision to the overall vision of the church, and to share visitor information with the staff.
b. Organize a lay leader meeting at least once a month in order to communicate the vision set by the elders and brainstorm the vision of the children’s ministry.
2. Security and Safety
a. Follow safety and security processes set by the Elder Board or developed as a best practice from your lay leader meeting.
b. Develop a system to communicate to the sound booth in the sanctuary in order to broadcast to parents a number of a child who needs immediate attention.
c. Maintain medical release forms and document them in software system.
d. Organize and maintain an emergency aid station.
e. Implement and maintain mandatory background checks for all childcare workers.
3. Teaching or Training
a. Purchase or develop children’s ministry curriculum that is rooted in Scripturally appropriate content spanning ages 0-11.
b. Conduct quarterly training to keep lay minister’s informed about the curriculum, security, special events or software training.
c. Submit to the Pastor an annual calendar every October highlighting your teaching plan and events scheduled for the following year.
a. Ensure information is updated and maintained into software database.
b. Schedule or delegate scheduling of all lay volunteers for Sunday using our software database.
c. Oversee the management of the children’s ministry part of the website.
5. Outreach Events and Missions Awareness
a. Assist lay leaders in designing outreach events.
b. Create at least one event per year to emphasize Missions awareness within children’s ministry.
6. Annual Budget
a. Develop annual budget and submit to the Pastor every October with an event calendar.
b. Enforce the use of purchase orders within children’s ministry.
c. Ensure spending is within approved budget.

Scope of Work and Compensation
This is a salaried position that averages about 40 hours per week. The salary is TBD by experience. Benefits include paid holidays, 2 weeks of vacation, 1 week of personal leave.
