What Will You Find During a Visit to Lazy Mountain Bible Church?

We all remember what it is like. You move to an area, or are on a visit or vacation. And you wonder, which church shall I attend? You want to worship Jesus Christ. You want to hear a relevant message from the Bible. You want to worship God with lively and reverent music.

And then there are the practical realities. If you have infants and toddlers, you wonder if there will be a good nursery with well trained and devoted volunteers. Is there a Sunday School? Will your children and teens be both welcomed and challenged? Will you be welcomed as a single person?

We understand that all of these are important concerns whether you are looking for a church to visit in Palmer, Alaska, or the Mat-Su Valley, or looking for a potential church home.

We’d like you to know that Lazy Mountain Bible Church was founded by people just like you–single and married folks who came to Alaska to serve Jesus Christ and to advance the good news of His Gospel. As they came and established themselves in Palmer, Wasilla, and the Mat-Su Valley, they knew they needed a church to be their spiritual home and also to be a home to the spiritually homeless. A church founded on the Bible, and committed to know Christ and to make Him known. And in the frontier spirit of 30 years ago they knew if they were going to have such a church, they would need to come together and start one.

And that is what we have become today — a thriving community of Faith, located on the shoulders of Lazy Mountain, just a mile from the Palmer Airport, across the Matanuska River. When you come here, you will receive a warm, but not pushy welcome. You will hear a relevant message straight from the Bible. You will have opportunity to sing the great hymns of the faith as well as the newest contemporary worship songs blended together with Scripture and prayer. You will hear of our mission together in Christ, as each week we share what one of our 35 missionaries are doing in the world. And you will see children and teens frequently and actively in worship.

We hope you will visit us. We look forward to meeting you.
